Made to Order

Many of my designs can be made to order in your choice of metal and gemstones. The exception to this is the work that is listed in the Series of One collection. My work is designed and handmade by me in my Melbourne-based studio. For design inspiration, I recommend viewing the work listed in my archive.

Bespoke Commissions

Creating unique pieces for my clients is the most rewarding part of my business. Every piece that I create is hand-finished and one-of-a-kind. Please email info@katherinebowman.com.au to ask any questions about this process or arrange an obligation-free consultation.

Sizing

I use Australian ring size measurements, which is an alphabetical range from A-Z. Many of my rings are able to be resized. The charge for resizing will vary with the metal and the amount the ring needs to be resized. The estimated fee for resizes are as follows:

Resizing a 9ct yellow/rose gold ring, the price will be approximately $200 AUD.
Resizing a 9ct white gold ring, the price will be approximately $250 AUD.
Resizing an 18ct yellow/rose gold ring, the price will be approximately $300 AUD
Resizing an 18ct white gold ring, the price will be approximately $350 AUD

We will need to provide a quote for all resizes. Please email for further sizing information.

Please note that I will resize a custom ordered rings, free of charge within the first month of wear. After this, there will be a resizing fee. Please email to discuss this further.

Consultations

Quotes

Once we have discussed your bespoke jewellery item, I will provide you with a quote outlining the design and material choices. Due to the fluctuation of metal and stone prices, this quote will be valid for one week. After this time, I will need to re-quote.

Delivery Times

My average delivery time for commissioned bespoke pieces is 3-6 weeks. For an order to be placed, a 50% non-refundable deposit must be received and an order confirmation form signed and returned. This time frame is also dependent on the design and availability of materials. Pieces that are from my online store will be posted within 3 days of full payment. You will be notified via email with tracking details.

Care

Like a favourite piece of clothing, jewellery is delicate and needs consideration. Jewellery will begin to change and wear over time; this is a natural part of the life cycle of a handmade object. Gemstone set items will need an occasional cleaning to ensure the gemstone continues to reflect its true colour and cut.
A simple way to clean your jewellery is to place the item in a small bowl in warm water (not boiling) diluted with a dash of dishwashing detergent. Running a soft toothbrush on the underside of a ring, below where gemstones are set, during soaking will help dislodge a build-up of dirt and oils from your skin; this dirt can dull the reflective qualities of the gemstones. Completely dry the piece with a clean cloth once the item has been rinsed under clean water.
Jewellery, particularly rings with gemstones, should not be worn during bathing, exercise, gardening or housework. Wearing jewellery pieces set with gemstones during these activities can result in wear across the surface of the gemstones. Storing your jewellery in a safe place during these activities will help preserve the condition of the gemstone.

Payment

All prices are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of 10% GST (Australian Government Goods and Services Tax). They are not inclusive of shipping costs. Prices are subject to change without notice.
The customer is required to pay for any order placed on the Katherine Bowman website immediately upon confirmation of the order via PayPal.
Please contact the studio via email if you wish to transfer payment directly. We can provide you with the BSB and Account details.

Gift Vouchers

We can offer Gift Vouchers through our website. The gift voucher will be emailed to you and maybe redeemed on our website or for a custom order.  Please email info@katherinebowman.com.au to arrange a gift voucher.
It is your sole responsibility as the purchaser to ensure that the voucher is stored securely and given only to the intended recipient. 
Unless those vouchers are expressed to be subject to other terms and conditions, these conditions apply. 
Vouchers are redeemable for products or services sold by us on our website only and can’t be refunded, redeemed for cash or applied toward any special, promotion or discounted offer.
Vouchers issued after November 2019 are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase.
Vouchers are non-transferable and are not redeemable for cash under any circumstances, including any partial balance remaining after redemption.

Lay-by payment schedule

The full price of the layby must be paid within 6 weeks. Sales made using the Lay Buy payment schedule are subject to the same terms and conditions as sales made using any other payment method. Please keep in mind that we are a small business; we do not accept returns or exchanges based on change of mind. We are happy to provide additional information, images, and videos of the jewellery item you are interested in to ensure you are confident with your decision before purchasing.

Shipping

I ship nationally via Australia Post using Express Post.
International deliveries are shipped using Express Courier International (Australia Post). You will need to sign for your parcel on delivery.
Postage is $15 Australia-wide (Express Shipping). The shipping rate will be calculated and added to your sale at checkout.
There is a flat rate of $50 for international shipping.

In the very rare event that your purchase is lost in transit, please contact me, and I will investigate its whereabouts ASAP.

Exchanges

We are currently not accepting exchanges on any items purchased on the online store. The studio does not refund online purchases, so please email any questions you may have before purchasing to ensure that you are 100% sure of your purchase.
With bespoke orders, the work you have commissioned has been designed to meet your specific requirements. As such, once an order has been agreed upon, it cannot be cancelled. Any changes made to the design once an order has started can incur a charge and will be at the client’s expense.
This item cannot be exchanged or returned. The deposit is strictly non - refundable.

Repairs and Cleaning

I am happy to repair and clean your Katherine Bowman handmade jewellery item. All you need to do is email the studio with details, and from here, we can discuss delivery, timeframe and cost.
